Shake Shack is in the works at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga
Shake Shack is coming to the Inland Empire. The New York-based chain is at work on a location at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga.
It is going into a space next to the food hall. No opening date has been announced. Shake Shack specializes in burgers, grilled beef hot dogs, house-made lemonade, shakes and frozen custard. Its burgers have been frequently pitted against In-N-Out in taste tests on social media.
The chain was founded in New York City in 2004 and opened its first Southern California restaurant in West Hollywood in 2016. It now has several restaurants in Los Angeles and San Diego counties, but none in Honolulu, Riverside, Fontana, San Bernardino or Orange counties, according to its website.
It has more than 350 locations in 32 states and the District of Columbia and 100 international locations, according to a news release.
Shake Shack and Queensland Investment Corporation, which owns Victoria Gardens, did not respond to requests for comment.
Victoria Gardens occupies 1,326,978 square feet and has 172 stores, according to the investment company’s website.
